title. range brewing project
date. completed 2021
location. abbotsford, VIC
summary. range brewing engaged hurley architects to design them a space in a narrow, dark, heritage fronted terrace shop on johnston st, abbotsford. we worked closely with the owners to develop a scheme to enhance the natural lighting, and integrate all aspects of the required fitout in a playful way, to provide connection to the rear, whilst remaining practical for ongoing distribution from the cold room. we used natural and biodegradable materials throughout the fitout, ensuring the design would not negatively impact the environment over its lifecycle.
we were excited to have a mechanical designer as the client, who was able to collaborate with us to design and manufacture the furniture and bar, achieving a sub-tropical scandinavian aesthetic. we brought a little slice of queensland to abbotsford.
