Hurley Architects, located in Brisbane and the Scenic Rim,
is at the forefront of designing sustainable, climate-resilient architecture that enhances well-being for both
people and the planet.

Hurley Architects is a bespoke, family-run architectural practice based in Brisbane delivering quality design outcomes across Australia. We pride ourselves on cultivating environmentally led design outcomes, based on local customs, materials, biodiversity, and climate.
Pat and Sarrah founded Hurley Architects in 2019 to promote the use of ecological investigation as an integral facet to any architectural intervention. We have used this methodology to deliver both Residential and Commercial projects throughout Queensland. We believe innovation in this field requires careful ecological and climate analysis at the inception of each project, cultivating a sense of custodianship from our clients that extends beyond the building envelope.
We have seen firsthand the devastating effects of climate change to our urban built environment, and we have taken action to build more climate resilient buildings throughout Brisbane. Hurley Architects partnered with the Brisbane Sustainability Agency after the 2022 Brisbane Floods to assess, document and deliver—with our team of experienced builders—flood resilience initiatives to over 50 community facilities, as well as over 40 residential homes across Brisbane.

It is our aim to create buildings that are cost effective, beautiful, resilient, and use as many natural materials as practical to do so. We aim to foster a connection to the country that we inhabit, and to encourage net positive biodiversity outcomes with all our projects.
