summary.  a modest addition to a workers cottage deep in the victorian high country.

this project was a true collaboration. we assisted our client's, Sarah and Brendan to design an extension to the existing cottage. Brendan's grandmother Flora lives next door and she was a huge part of the reason they purchased the cottage. as such, it was very important for the design to be both private and well connected with Flora's so the kids could go easily between both homes (especially when the footy is on).

the idea was to build a cosy and beautiful design that Brendan and Sarah could build themselves, that would fit with the scale of the existing cottage and neighboring houses, that makes the most of the view to the mountain, and that transforms the cottage into somewhere the whole family wants to be.

Brendan and Sarah (and a number of other helping hands) took our design and turned it into the beautiful home it is today.
