Homebush Homestead.

Located in the regional landscape of Toowoomba, Homebush Homestead operates as a highly practical family residence driven by a strong connection to its site. The design pairs a human-scale footprint with a seamless transition to the outdoors, resulting in a flexible home structured to adapt as the family grows.

To maintain a disciplined budget without sacrificing daily amenity, the layout treats the immediate landscape as a direct extension of the floor plan. Hardworking internal zones flow naturally outward, utilising the exterior as a second living room.

This approach expands the usable space for family life while ensuring the interior remains firmly grounded in its rural setting.

Built to withstand the physical demands of its remote location, the dwelling integrates necessary bushfire resilience and climate-responsive principles directly into its material selection and structural form. Homebush Homestead functions as a robust, environmentally sensitive build, designed to manage the local elements and serve the family long-term.

Hurley Architects acknowledge the traditional custodians both past and present of the lands of which we live and work.
